Lockwood Holmes Jr. is the Founder and CEO of Vincimus Capital — a firm built to serve a circle of families with rare depth, alignment, and intentionality, and the natural expression of a life lived where capital, character, and community meet.
His foundation was laid in Jacksonville, Florida, in the family-owned Holmes Lumber Company, where he learned early that anything worth building rests on hard work, trust, and the patience to see it through. That lesson carried him onto the collegiate football field at the United States Air Force Academy and Furman University, and then west to Malibu, California, for an MBA at Pepperdine University. His work has since spanned family business, operating companies, and the private markets — including nearly a decade, prior to Vincimus, as CEO of a fast-growing wealth management company. Founding Vincimus in 2022 was a return to what he loves most — investing in the private markets, and working directly, family by family, with the people he serves.
Beyond Vincimus, Lockwood serves on the board of Student Leadership University and on the board of a private business development company formed in partnership by Eagle Point and Trinity Capital. He sits on the Limited Partner Advisory Council of Ten VC, and is Managing Director of the Jacksonville partnership behind the Jacksonville Surf Park — a surf and community-development project in the city that raised him.
Closer to home, Lockwood has served for seventeen years as a teaching elder and worship leader at The Malibu Gathering, his local church — a long, steady commitment to teaching, worship, and a community he loves. It is, in many ways, the root system beneath everything else.
Lockwood lives in Malibu, California, with his wife, Aubree, and their three children. A lifelong surfer and competitive prone paddler, he has earned multiple top-five finishes in the Catalina Classic and the Molokai 2 Oahu — two of the most demanding open-ocean crossings in the sport.
Whether in business, in the water, at church, or at home, he is animated by a single belief — that a legacy is not what a person leaves behind, but what is multiplied in others.
